Isuzu trucks have been running up and down the highways of Australia for many years and have long had a reputation for being reliable workhorses. Today, there is a wide range of models available that are suitable for both driving around town or over longer distances up and down the highway.

The N Series offers a variety of models ranging from the NKR 200 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel through to the NQR 450 available in both medium and long wheelbase. The NQR 450 is powered by a 4-cylinder 16 valve SOHC direct injection turbocharged diesel engine pushing out 129kw of power at 2,600rpm. The transmission is a 6 speed manual synchromesh gearbox. The front axle has 3,100kg load capacity while the rear axle has 6,600kg load capacity. For the driver’s comfort, the cabin includes:

tilt and telescopic adjustable steering column connecting a soft feel urethane steering wheel

electric windows

central locking

two cup holders

storage trays in the centre console

air conditioning, heater and demister, and

radio and CD player with digital anti-skip memory and optional CD stacker.

For those long days in the driver’s seat, the wide contoured driver’s bucket seat provides lumbar support and reclining adjustment. There’s also a bench seat that will seat two offsiders relatively comfortably.

For much larger loads there is the F Series range. The FVR 950 has a 6 cylinder, 4 stroke, 24 valve, SOHC, direct injection diesel engine that puts out 191kw at 2,500rpm. This is coupled to an Eaton Fuller 6 speed manual gearbox. The load capacity is 6,000kg for the front axle and 9,000kg for the rear axle. Inside the cabin, you’ll find much the same appointments as in the NQR 450 but you’ll get an Isringhausen full suspension seat for added comfort.

Isuzu make a wide range of trucks in the smaller to medium sized market. While most are medium and long wheelbase rigid models, there are also models catering to those who need a prime mover.

When buying any used truck, including an Isuzu, you need to be careful about the treatment it has received, so you’ll want to check everything out thoroughly. Make sure that there have been regular services. It might be a good idea to find one that has been driven by an owner driver/oneowner as they are more likely to have treated the truck properly out on the road and looked after it in the shed as apposed to a truck that may have been driven by a number of different drivers.

Since its introduction in the auto market in 1989, the Subaru Legacy has attracted the attention of many car buyers not only for its good looks but also because of its reliability and performance. For the 2008 model year, the Japanese automaker gave the Legacy a mid-generation upgrades.

On the outside, the Japanese auto manufacturer changed the front end of the Legacy. Although Subaru changed the looks of the front end of the car, the change is subtle. Among the changes made by Subaru to the Legacy are the headlights, revised grille and the new side mirrors. On the rear end of the car, changes were made to the rear bumper and taillights. With the changes dome to the front end of the Legacy, it no longer looks exactly like the Subaru Outback. The changes though could not hide the similarity between the Outback and the new Legacy. Although some critics labeled the Outback and the Legacy as bland in design, there are also those who claimed that the clean lines of the Subaru Legacy is one of its strong selling points.

The powerplant of the Subaru legacy also received upgrades. The engine of the current generation Legacy is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine. The upgraded engine provides mid-range torque thanks to the modifications made to the cam timing of the engine.

According to Subaru, the Legacy’s engine can produce as much as 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. That power is adequate enough for the power need of the midsize car. Another engine available with the Legacy is a turbocharged version of the boxer engine. The turbocharged engine can produce as much as 243 horsepower and 241 lb-ft of torque.

A new feature for the Legacy, specifically for its drivetrain is the improved five-speed automatic transmission. Following the trend in the auto industry, Subaru gave their automatic transmission a paddle shifter. Precision engineered, the Subaru Legacy’s five-speed automatic transmission has a shifting time of 0.2 seconds, that time is considerably less than the 0.6 seconds shifting time for the previous transmission.

One of the most notable features of Legacy even previous models is its handling. Subaru engineers have been developing suspension systems for the Legacy which gave it good handling and steering responsiveness. With that, the Legacy can handle tight cornering even on high speeds.

Aside from the upgrades given by Subaru to the new Legacy, its looks and performance can be improved by using Subaru aftermarket parts. But even without the aid of these components, the Legacy with all the upgrades given to it by the Japanese carmaker is enough to make the Legacy worth every cent spent on it.

According to auto industry experts, the new Subaru legacy is a positive step for Subaru. The new Legacy is seen as the one to usher a new era for the Japanese auto manufacturer in terms of competing with established nameplates. The midsize Legacy is directly competing with the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord and the reigning North American Car of the Year, the Saturn Aura. With the improvements made on the Legacy, the nameplate is on its way to being a serious competitor in its segment.

The Mitsubishi Colt is yet another hatchback that has found itself lumped in with a myriad of others in the saturated supermini market. This market is very much sink or swim recently and to stay afloat your car has got to have something a little different or special to attract interest. So will the Mitsubishi Colt be riding along on the crest of a wave or sinking irretrievably amidst the gloomy waters of supermini failure?

The first impression is suitably impressive as the exterior ticks boxes you wouldn’t expect it to, as it manages to look solid and chunky yet you can be sure that you will be able to fit it into all but the very tightest of parking spaces. It has a tall roof that means that there will be enough room to comfortably seat at least 4 6-foot+ adults; reassuring news if you were ferrying guests to a medical giant’s convention.

The interior is relatively basic, but looks smart enough and appears to be of a high manufacturing standard and all the plastics are rigid and will stand up to ham-fisted testing. The seating is perhaps a little too firm, which makes long journeys a little undesirable, but as these cars are primarily designed for short city driving, this isn’t too much of a pressing concern. The Colt is available in 3 door, 5 door and cabriolet editions and the engines range from 1.1 Litre to 1.5 Litre Petrol, which is proof if any were required that Mitsubishi have no delusions of grandeur about the Colt being adapted into some kind of racing car. No, it is a fairly slow car and you’ll get bored of counting the seconds it takes to get from 0-60. That really isn’t the point of the Mitsubishi Colt though. This car has been designed with practicality in mind, so the evaluation criteria should be more a question of handling, boot space, economy and ecology.

In these terms the Colt does pretty well. The handling isn’t exactly pin-point accurate, but is more than fit for purpose on a car of this ilk. The boot is actually smaller than you would expect, but put the passenger seats down and you have an impressive capacity that will manage to accommodate most shopping trips. Economically speaking the Colt is a triumph on two counts; firstly, with the basic Colt model starting from £7,799, it is very competitively priced for a new car. Secondly, with economical engine, you should find yourself achieving very high and wallet-friendly miles per gallon ratios. Tying in with this, the ecological implications of owning this car are almost negligible; the Colt produces one of the lowest CO2 emissions for its class and will not cause too much damage to the environment.

So far, so good for the little Japanese Mitsubishi, but there is one small flaw in its conception; the Mitsubishi Colt lacks a gimmick. Whereas the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa and Fiat 500 have got stylish good looks in there corner, the Mitsubishi just has fairly bog-standard practicality stamped all over it. The Colt can’t compete in performance terms with the Volkswagen cars so its difficult to see where it can fit in the over-crowded marketplace.

However, if you are looking for a basic, no-frills, reliable and cheap city car, the the Mitsubishi Colt is definitely worth your consideration.

Luxurious cars have been roaming around street paraded by lucky owners involved in an elite society and clubs. A lot of automakers have released their own makes for luxurious cars to continue feeding the hunger of the elite for luxury that they can ride along the streets and highways. These cars include sedan, coupe, hatchback, station wagon, roadster, and sports utility vehicles.

These luxury vehicles offer additional features that define comfort for both the passengers and driver. The attention and enhancement is particularly seen on the appearance, interior design, interior leather, polished dashboards, amenities, and other innovative and technological upgrades not available in regular day-to-day cars. Price would also mean sky-high as these cars carry prestige. Just to name a few – Toyota has its own Lexus GS, Mercedez-Benz has their E-Class, BMW boasts of their 5 Series, Holden has Caprice and Statesman, Jaguar XJ, Volkswagen Phaeton, Cadillac DTS, and Nissan with their Infiniti M35/45 models.Infiniti, on its earlier release has a platform unique on its own. It was only recently that it incorporated the automobile platform from its parent company Nissan. However, even with the Nissan platform as its basis, certain differences still arise that greatly set the two apart. Because of Infiniti’s design for luxury, it is only fit for them to sport a more powerful engine than regular Nissan models, which clearly defines the difference between the two. Other than this, they give drivers more tuned suspensions, luxurious interior apartments, heated and cooled seats, steering systems, voice recognition control for vehicle system operation complete with a Bose audio system.

For this, owners of this Nissan luxury vehicle should also take into consideration their Infiniti’s radiator. The risk of a troubled radiator is too high as with a broken radiator, any driver might suffer overheating, blown gasket, or at the worst, full blown engine fire. Any Infiniti owner wouldn’t want their luxurious car’s cooling system break down just because of a neglected auto radiator system. Car radiators are utterly important in any car’s engine as they work by convection. This is the transfer of heat that takes place during the automatic circulation of fluid. A heated fluid enters the radiator through a hot tube from the hot engine and then goes down to smaller tubes where it is cooled off by a breeze in the grill. Because of this, driver should be extra careful when shopping for a replacement for radiator and be sure to check the radiator tubes and fins. These two should equal to a higher fin per inch ratio so that the greater the surface area of the radiator, the greater amount of cooling it provides. Also, drivers should check with a mechanic what the best brand of radiator should best fit their Infiniti.

Auto radiators should always be at its top shape with the important role it hold in any car’s engine performance. It is only proper then to buy these radiators from trusted brands and check its compatibility with their car’s engine. This would be most advised to owners driving luxury cars such as Nissan’s Infiniti. To be able to impress its audience while it parades through the streets, every part of Infiniti should be well checked. And for a real comforting ride, Infiniti’s radiator should match well its unique pressure level for better function of its cooling system.
